Under the banner of his ‘Brussels Lof, total idea
factory’ Jos van Doorn performs art-related
assignments for clients in the private and public
sectors and also for private individuals.
In
his work he visualises the identity of the
client’s activities. He also consistently seeks to
practise ’the art of combining’ in these applied
art commissions. After thoroughly analysing the
client’s business philosophy and core activities,
he sets out to combine the demands of his client
with his own autonomous form of visual expression
to create unique, customised works of art. See
'Toegepaste kunst' for examples of what he created
for the vehicle insurance company Bovemij (with
drips of oil, a derailleur and a coil symbolising
the client’s core activities) and the New Year’s
presents of water jugs in the shape of electricity
pylons that he created for the manager of the
national electricity network TenneT.
